A Brief History of TYO









               •    Founded  in  1986,  the  orchestra  is  the  oldest  youth  ensemble  in


                    Thailand. Its co-founder,Prof. Phukorn Srinarong, then concertmaster



                    of Bangkok Symphony, became the orchestra’s first Music Director.




               •     Department  of  Cultural  Promotion  began  its  role  as  a  caretaker  of


                     TYO in 1990, making Thailand Cultural Center the orchestra’s home.
